Formally trained in classical archaeology, I find that
my work is influenced greatly by the ancient relics and stories of past civilizations. I am particularly drawn to massive stone markers- Mycenaean beehive burial mounds, Mesopotamian steles, Egyptian columns and Celtic monoliths. These time-worn stone monuments inform the shape and heft of my sculptures, while their weathered patinas inspire my layered surfaces.

In conjunction with these monumental forms I often use archetypal symbols taken from ancient myths and tales. These symbols are used to express such universal human experiences as love, fear, death, courage and transformation.
